GUI

Choose classic Palm launcher look&feel, typical Windows Explorer style or some compromise.
You can setup vertical/horizontal layout, tabs, fonts, columns, bars etc.
Favorites provide fast access to frequently visited folders.
Add the one-handed control and the support of all common devices and resolutions.

File Manager

Explorer provides a comfortable way for all file operations you may think off - copy, move, delete, rename, beam, etc.

You may use features such as drag&drop, copy&paste, multi-selection, RAM/card conversions, powerful sorting, searching and filtering, various viewers and editors.

Explorer 2009 can synchronise folders (even over the network) and perform card check (chkdsk).

Launcher

Popular viewers, players and readers can be launched by tapping their data files. (Document launching)

Documents can be organized into virtual folders accessible as launcher categories.

Explorer works like classic launcher, with applications and document categories put on the same level.

Another special feature is secure document storage that safely stores your files and provides easy interface for their launching.

Zipper

Zipper is transparently integrated into the Explorer. You can perceive a zip archive as another folder and manipulate its contents, view compressed images, launch compressed applications etc.

Zipper offers also password-based encryption and even secure (AES) encryption.

Explorer 2009 supports also tar/bzip2 archives. bzip2 plugin is included in the zip installer.

Viewer

A simple fast built-in viewer providing full-screen image preview. Displays jpg/bmp/gif images and images produced by Clie and Zire cameras.

Enables direct image preview from the zip archives, but also preview over network.

An interesting feature is the preview of the image resources embedded in the Palm OS databases.

Backup

Multi-user, multi-backup solution with incremental backup, encryption, sorting and filtering and with open backup format.

Backup set verification provides unique possibility for the backup testing without performing actual restore.

Control panel

Association editor (media manager) controls Hotsync paths, document launching and IR/BT receive.

Preferences browser offers tree-like presentation of the preferences and limited editing.

Network panel contains low-level tcp commands (ping, tracert) and the time synchronization with World time servers

Other handy tools include the alarm editor and various information panels.

RAM analyzer

You know it: Cleaning old unneeded remnants that just occupy precious space, is close to impossible. It is here when the (optional) folder view of the RAM comes to help.

Explorer sorts the RAM files into logical folders and identifies unknown pieces - simply a perfect tool for the RAM analysis.

Advanced user may use special filters for locked, opened, protected files etc.

LAN/VPN/Bluetooth networks

Do you need to access your local PC? Then mount the PC drive and use it as another Palm card. (No need to learn anything!)

All you need is a working connection. (WiFi, BlueTooth etc. - see ExplorerNetworking.pdf in the zip installer.)

Works with Windows, Mac and Linux and also with VPN networks.
